New Blackberry wont connect to Desktop Software

Hi all, I have a replacement for my Curve 9300 as some of the keys stopped working on the old one.

 

I have plugged the old phone into the pc and loaded the desktop software up which works just fine and backs up all the data so i can transfer it to the new phone.

 

When i then plug the new identical phone in the desktop software just spinns the green connecting symbol in the bottom right. Restarting the phone / pc doesnt help :smileysad:

 

Any ideas?
