Well RIM did it again, I loaded the new B044 desktop software last night and I can't complete a full sync. How do I go back to the previous version?

Same thing happened to me. I had to wait forever for the last step. I Forced quitted it. Tried 3 times. But I did the stupid thing of trying to Recover my Windows to a few days ago. Don't do that. And now I don't have the 6.1 desktop, and I am too scared of the 7.0 software. My blackberry cannot synch with my outlook until I can get to the shop a few days later.!!!
Blackberry, why now, why me, why do this to your loyal customers and why don't you post a fix ASAP!

Mine too - software just updated to 7.0.0.43 and now all I get is endless messages saying Outlook has no profiles (I have 2 different ones!) and it won't sync.
Best version of teh desktop software was around 4.5 Has gotten steadily worse since then! 6 was unstable: sometimes would see my BB, sometimes not. Never could get the calendar sync working properly on it, so ended up simply going 1 way (PC -> BB) meaning I couldn't make new appts on the BB.
VERY TIRESOME!

I received a noticication that the new Desktop Software release 7.0xx is available and I chose the option to download & install.
The new version 7.0 failed to start/launch and sends an error report to Microsoft.
I removed version 7.0 (but left the settings) via the Control Panel, restarted the computer en installed version 6 which I had and worked well for many months. Now version 6 also fails to start/launch and sends an error report to Microsoft.
Now I don't understand what could be wrong or what to try.

What everyone does not seem to understand is that this is Blackberry. They are both stupid and useless. They do not do their homework and release **bleep** before its ready. And everything is screwed up again. Traditional Blackberry. We will just have to sit and wait for several months while they get their **bleep** together. God help us with release 2.0 for Playbook. Stay away from it like the plague.

Same issue as others on this post. Finally reverted back to 6.1. It's quite sad. BB seems to continually trip over itself. As soon as my 'new every two' time comes around with Verizon, I'm going to an iPhone or Android phone.
