My device manager is 126.96.36.199
Desktop software is 188.8.131.52 platform 184.108.40.206
Computer does not recognize my 8100 pearl Was working find last week. I wanted to upgrade to the newest media manager since then my problems began
Any help would be welcomed

Uninstall your desktop manager and download the latest 4.6.
From ur carriers website, download the latest Device software for ur 8100.
It should be 4.5.x.x
Save it to your desktop, waiting until it finishes downloading, double click it to install it to ur computer.
You will then be able to check if its installed properly on ur new desktop manager by going to 'Help" > About Desktop Manager > Device Software and you should see the 4.5.x.x in there. If you can't see it, it means u haven't installed the device software correct.

you can start by just the Desktop Manager first.
=> you can disconnect your Blackberry, go to the blackberry.com website, and download the Desktop Manager 4.6 with Media Manager.
then uninstall your current desktop manager. Please proceed as explained here :
then install the new Desktop Manager.
then do a backup of everything on your Blackberry.
Only after doing all that, ou can try and open the Roxio Media Manager.

Why doesn't my desktop software recognize my handheld?? This is making me crazy!!!!

Save your hair, you'll need it later
Reboot your PC, put the USB in the computer port
Start the desktop manager, then plug in your device.
If it doesn't recognize it, Bring done the desktop software.
Pull the battery out of the phone while it's ON,
leave it out for a minute, replace and let it reboot 2-3 minutes.
start the desktop software and plug the cable into the BB,
Let us know what happens.
