Only able to reply to emails, not initiate them

Can anyone walk me through in laymans terms what I need to do to correct this? I am only able to reply to emails, not initate them myself. I get the error message:"The recipient is not recognized" I have three separate email accounts that all show to have been successfully registered. I have a BB 8700c.

can you describe what the different steps between the moment you click "compose" and the display of that error ?
