Only "some" calendar items sync?

I am using Outlook 2007, a Tour 9630, and Desktop Manager 5.0.1.28

 

I have configured two-way sync with Outlook Calendar through Desktop Mgr. I've verified that all of the advanced settings are also correct and out of the way:

 

No filters are set

Conflict resolution says "add all conflicting appointments"

Sync is two-way

No confirmation is required for additions, deletions or changes

 

While my Outlook appointments are correctly being transferred to my BB, appointments entered directly on the BB will not transfer back to my Outlook calendar.

 

Can someone please give me some ideas?

Hi GNemes and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!

 

This sounds like you may have multiple calendars on your BlackBerry smartphone.  First thing I would suggest is to check/change your default calendar.  You can do this by going to Options>Advanced Options>Default Services.  You will see Calendar (CICAL) and it will likely show one of your email addresses as the selection.  You can leave this the way it is, or change it, if desired.

 

Once the above is completed, go to your calendar, press the menu button and select options.  In the next screen you will see a list of all calendars on your BlackBerry.  Do not select anything at this point.  Type the word "move" on your keyboard.  This should move all of your calendar appointments into your default calendar, therefore, allowing them all to synchronize.

Well, I may have resolved some of this problem by clearing the Service Book entry through the Desktop Manager and sync'ing again.

 

However I now have THREE of every appointment appearing on my BB calendar. Sigh. From the beginning of time through all future appointments. It's a mess.

 

So ... I guess the next step is to totally clear the entire calendar and sync again with Outlook overriding the BB, which should send everything back over to the BB, right?

 

Now to figure out how that's done???

 

Thanks to Cpt-Sweatpants (who thought of that moniker anyway! LOL) ... for your reply. I did go to Default Services in Advanced Options ... but my Default Services screen is blank. ??

Your welcome for the reply!  Cpt_Sweatpants is from one of my favorite television shows :smileyhappy:

 

So, your default services are blank?  That sound like the BlackBerry software should be reinstalled.  I would suggest trying a battery pull first though.  In the meantime, we can clear your calendar from your BlackBerry using a few different methods:

 

1. Go to Calendar press menu button and choose Options then type rset.  This should give you a prompt indicating it will clear your calendar.

 

2. From within the BlackBerry Desktop Manager, go to Backup and Restore, choose Advanced.  Under the Device Databases, choose Calendar and click Clear at the bottom of the screen.

 

3. Perform a one way synchronization from the BlackBerry Desktop Manager to the BlackBerry choosing the option to replace all data in the target application.

Okay, after several resets and application updates ... and clearing the calendar, then doing the one-way sync, it looks as though everything is working correctly.

 

Hopefully it stays that way!

 

After updating the BB software, the default services came back. I was not able to clear the calendar through the BB itself, but was able to do so through the desktop mgr as you suggested in #2.

 

Thanks for your help! This BB is far more labor intensive to maintain than was my Treo ... but then again it doesn't constantly reset  itself either!
