Desktop Software for PC

Hi,

I have just bought a new Pearl 8100 phone, however when i go to the website to install the Desktop Manager software, i do not know which one to pick? My phone  in options state Blackberry Pearl 8100 Wirelss handheld (EDGE) v4.2.166 (plateform 2.3.0.57)?

there was no instruction and also i am no PC Expert, if someone can assist by guiding me through the steps i would greatly appreciate your time.

Just install the latest. Make sure you install both the Desktop and Device Software.

The device software keeps your berry up to date. It will either be 4.2 or 4.3 depending on your carrier.

There's also a mythical 4.5/4.6 OS that many hope may be released during WES starting today.

Thank you for replying so promptly, i have one more question, as i didnt realise I need to be on a plan to activate PXT and MMS and email, i wont be joining a plan, so is ther another way of getting my photos off the Blackberry? Can it be sycronhised? OR ?

You can transfer them to your pc/laptop using your usb cable or remove your sd card and use a card reader.

When I tried this it asked for a password I tried evryone I know and it would not let me finish downloading  it on to my computer??????
