I am having issues with restoring data on my Blackberry Curve 8330. I am running BB DM 5.0.0.11 and on my device v4.5.0.160.

 

I have a saved backup file from a while ago that I am trying to restore my contacts list and my messages list from. I'll list my procedure below for getting the error message:

 

Open Desktop Manager, type in device password, click on Backup and Restore, click on Advanced, click on File -> Open, select the file and open it, and I get a message that says "Error - The data was not recognized by the desktop."

 

Recently I have reinstalled windows to fix my slow computer, I reinstalled DM off the Blackberry.com website. And It won't let me open the file.

 

Does anyone have any advice on this? Thanks!

You are right, that is the exact same problem. I'm surprised that I missed that thread, I combed through here for an hour! Will keep tabs, thanks!
