@John_Clark
Of what do you wish to see a picture?
@JSanders
At this point I am not sure... If it's an XML I can mess around with in the softwares folder, that's certainly a heck of a lot easier than trying to plant some xml on the actual device, since i doubt it would be as simple as dragging and dropping an xml file on the media card of the phone hahaha...
There are certainly more pressing matters for the phone, if I could draw your attention to
seeing as you both appear to be very experienced with BlackBerries.
Thank you very much for your comments
Edit:
@JSanders, Loader.exe detects the blackberry as "USB-PIN: (My pin)"

Ok, good, so where are you headed? Trying to install an OS or what?

About screen too blurry to make out. Tell me what entries you need.
At this point I'm not sure where I'm headed. I don't know what good installing an OS will do as it's likely not the OS' fault the DM doesn't support the model.
Also yes, I am using the latest 6.0 DM

cool, thanks. the housing, front and back pretty much look just a Storm2.
On the About screen, what OS? Third line down, v.6.x.x.xxx

You can use JL_Cmder to take a screenshot.

So, Verizon cancelled this device? That's a shame. A lot of people are waiting for the Storm 3.

No trackpad on it?
12-18-2010 10:42 PM
@JSanders
v6.0.0.203 platform 4.4.0.138
@John
I wasn't sure if i could get that onto my BB without network connection etc etc, in other words, I was too lazy to try
and no, no trackpad.
It really is a shame it wasn't released... It's actually a proper phone. (relatively) Fast. Not very glitchy, etc. People talk a lot of **bleep** about the Storm, and it's understandable for the Storm 1, but the Storm 2 was actually decent, and this is even better.

I have the same phone. My company gets demo units all the time from RIM. The only difference I can tell from your pics and post is that I have a sticker on the back of mine that reads, "Property of Research In Motion Limited. All rights reserverd. Evaluation Unit. Not for sale or lease." Also I seem to have a lower OS version, 6.0.0.155. It's buggy so I have been trying to update it, but the auto updater keeps telling me there are no updates available.
When I first got the phone I was able to use the Blackberry Desktop Software to synch with Outlook and such with no problems. Then last week I had a pop up that said there was an update available for the Desktop Software. So I installed it and ever since then I have been getting the same error as you. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the entire Desktop Software application to no avail. I'm glad to hear that I am not the only one with this issue, but it saddens me to realize that there probably isn't any other solution other than hoping they fix it in the next release.
