KB04976 Enable and disable wireless organizer data synchronization

I cannot believe that after more than a year after I gave up with this rediculous software that it is still a problem! I switched to Windows mobile so that I could sync my calendar, inbox, contacts, to do list seamlessly with Outlook through ActiveSync; it just works!
Glad I gave up on BB and RIM, what a pile of rubbish; ahead of its time when it iwas introduced, but so far out of date now. There are far better solutions out there.

I found a solution that worked for me...finally! The issue is that Blackberry Software (previous versions or this one not sure) corrupt your registry and prevents it from working (usually any version after that). I purchased software from IOBit called Advanced System Care which has a registry scrubber in it that cleaned up Blackberry's mess for them. This is the only resonable solution I can recommend as anything else is "mindbending" unless you are a programmer and like the challenge (usually that's what Blackberry should pay people to do). So now the DM6 installs and works fine.
My recommendation for Blackberry is fire all executives and hire some people who want to work for their money!

I live and die by my phone and when I updated the software last night I have not been able to synch my calendar or task list. Needless to say I'm in freak out mode right now. I found these threads and it looks like the bottom line is that I'm screwed on ever getting anything to work now.
I see that you have a different way of synching and would like to know how. I use MS Outlook with my Storm 2, and before the update it was working fine. How do you synch now? Thanks for the help.

Hi brigmanj and welcome to the forums!
We need some specific info to give you the best solution.
Which version of desktop manager software were you running?
Did you upgrade to desktop manager v6.0 or the latest desktop manager 7.0?
What model PC do you have and what is the operating system?
What version of MS Outlook is installed?
Did you receive any error messages running the sync?
Until you provide the above answers the best suggestion would be to retrieve the log data referenced in the attached links.
Thanks,

Solution!!!!
I found that my real time backup software was trying to back up the BB desktop system files. At the same time, BB desktop was trying to access them and couldn't so it declared the above error message. All I had to do was remove the BB desktop system filed from the list of files to backup and it was solid thereafter.
Hope this helpes someone......
