If you want to return to an earlier version of the Desktop Software...

--Reboot your PC (Start > Turn off , etc)
--Upon startup, download this file: "610_b034_multilanguage"
from this link: http://www.blackberryforums.com/rim-software/25338

Hello,
I'm facing exactly the same problem. I've already reinstall 2 times the new BDS buth still the same. Is there no other ideas except downgrading into previous version?

You have to downgrade.. This problem is common on other threads and the only solution so far is to un-install Version 7 and reinstall Version 6.. Its the only way I could get my 9700 to work and sync again.
butten there may be a new version of 7 coming that fixes this bug

The previous version is also available here http://www.4shared.com/file/lclByIqC/610_b034_mult
You have to join "4shared.com" but it is free and the file seems to be OK (no embedded virus or other nasty things as far as i can tell). It worked finr for me - Win 7 64 Bit.

I got 7.0.0.43 to work on my Windows XP system:
1) selected device> forget device
2) reconnected bold 9900 to set up new partnership
3) chose to sync all organiser data from device to computer (deleting all organiser data on computer)
4) synced successfully
5) changed preferences to 2-way sync
6) synced successfully again

Deleted version 7 and went back to version 6.
Hopefully RIM will sort themselves out soon!
Just hope the PB OS2 isn't going to be full of holes!!!
