I get a message that I pluged a high speed USB device into a low speed port. I have an older computer so I am not even sure if it has a highspeed port. Would anyone be able to help me with this(does it even matter?)? Thanks any help helps lots!

There are 2 types of USB specifications. These are 1.1 and 2.0.
USB 1.1
PC purchased before 2001 are mostly used USB 1.1. USB 1.1 has a 12mbit maximum transfer rate.
USB 2.0
USB 2.0 is just like USB 1.1, but with much higher bandwidth. It will look the same and behave the same, but with a larger choice of more interesting, higher performance devices available. Also, all of the USB eripherals the user has already purchased will work in a USB 2.0-capable system. USB 2.0 has a 480mbit maximum transfer rate. Microsoft Windows will list USB 2.0 ports as Hi-Speed.
You can perform your activity with older USBs but transfer rate will be lower.
