I have a sync error (0x80040fb3) on my storm 2 and destop manager 5.0.1

The support advice is that (amongst other things) it could be illegal characters or empty spaces in the firstname lastname or company fields. The illegal characters include:

If this is the case, please can I ask how we are supposed to do things like a double-barrelled surname or my comapny name 'sit-up ltd'.

And for that matter, do I have to make up a company name for my Mum, or put 'none' in the company field just to achieve a sync?

I can't beleive that an empty company filed should prevent syncing!

I see the article and the suggestions you mention. I don't believe this to be a likely source of this error.

I have both empty company fields and hyphens in fields. I do not get the error (well - I did once yesterday, but a retry worked, and it has worked for the last 10 months without a problem).
