hi.

just got hold of a new 8900 to replace a broken one. Have backed up from my old phone. it did it no problem. took 30 seconds.

But when restoring to my new phone, it gets stuck about 1/10th of the way. ive left it for half an hour and it does nothing. Any ideas anyone?

Welcome to the forums. 

Try following the below article to do a selective restore of your data to see if you can find out what database is causing your issue.
