8100 software wipe-out

My 8100 started acting strange like turning the red light permanently, keys that wrote someting different to what it had to and so on. The T-Mobile customer Service suggested me that I should re-install the 8100 software and they sent me the link to downloaded and the instructions to do it. Everything with the connection of the Pearl to the PC, erase of the software on the Pearl etc. for about 20 min. Suddenly the PC show me the message that the connection to the Blackerry was lost. Now the Pearl is no longer working. It does not do anything and no longer the PC recognize it (via a properly configured USB port). It seems that the software erasing process went to far and also deleted the communication software in the 8100.

Can anyone tell me how to proceed now?

Thank You

Carlos

Please confirm whether you're getting any messages like, error code or sign in your device display?

Re: 8100 software wipe-out

Thanks for following the problem.

The screen is usually blank (off) only the red light turns on and off in a rather randomly pattern.

Sometimes if I press some keys (I haven't been able to figure out any particular sequence) the screen turns on, the sand clock sign appears in the center of the screen and a little box (rectangle) with a small circle appears in the left and a triangle in the right. The center is hidden since it is behind the sand clock sign. Also a very small 507 appears below this box. All the box is also behind a larger X. This last for a few seconds and the screen goes off again.

The red light continues.

Best Regards

If your getting the 507 error message you can try to reload the OS again.

What is it doing now?  Is the red LED light flashing repeatedly?  Or is is solid red?  Does the screen turn on at all?  If so, are you getting an error message?

Re: 8100 software wipe-out

I tried the steps and it was able to connect the PC to the 8100. But after the deleting and loading of the software, it appeared again the message "unable to reconnect to the device during a multistage load operation".

I tried at leat 7 times an all of them the result was the same.
