8830 Bell Aliant and Windows Live Messenger

Hi All,

I recently purchased a an 8830 for use on Bell Aliant's network.  I am trying to use windows live messenger.  According to Aliant, the device application is supposed to be preinstalled on the 8830.  The only icon on the device relating to messenger is to download the app.  If I use the icon to try and download, I go through the process only to get the message the device is unsupported.

I have spent a fair amount of time trying to get an answer out of Aliant's help desk.  The request was elevated twice but with no solution.

I have gone so far as to try a couple of different firmware versions and deleting and reloading the service book entries but all to no avail.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,

Jon

Re: 8830 Bell Aliant and Windows Live Messenger

For some carrier/region windows live messenger is not enabled. The device browser rejects this requests while trying todownload. Please confirm with your carrier whether they're eligible for providing WLM or not. If yes then they should resolvethe issue. If required with the help of RIM.
