BB APPLICATIONS & USING YOUR COMPUTER

Is there a way to log into your device and manage applications with your computer?  For instance managing Password Keeper, Contacts, etc.??  I would like to use the computer for ease of imputing information into these apps.

Can anybody help?

Re: BB APPLICATIONS & USING YOUR COMPUTER

Oh yes, certainly there is.

Many users make use of Outlook for contacts, calendar, memos and tasks. Outlook Express will handle contacts, not the calendar.

That's one way.

Password Keeper is more limited, only on the device itself. However, there are several good alternative password storage applications like KeepPass and DataVault that will handle this and inlcude on PC interfaces.

Re: BB APPLICATIONS & USING YOUR COMPUTER

I choose to use apps that have deskside companions for exactly this reason. For passwords I use "minisafe".

For ease of inputting you can use something like "Freedom Keyboard" which some of my BlackBerry users employ to have a "real" keyboard for inputting lengthy notes or emails directly into their handhelds.

Finally, the most complex option that I can think of is to go with a product like "Remote360" or "logmein rescue" which are services that allow you to take control of a BlackBerry using a thin client (web browser). Note that these are enterprise solutions and probably overkill for your purposes, but who knows? Maybe you have access to them through your corporate IT if  you're a corporate user.
