I didn't know how to contact RIM for support in this issue but I believe that MANY ON THIS PLANET need RIM to invent some Broadcast Blocker. (i.e. blocking some annoying people on my bbm list who just can't stop spamming)
I don't believe deleting them is an ideal issue. I still want to contact them and have them contact me. Talking to them didn't work either.
PLEASE RIM DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!! Its just a BUTTON that you will add to make your clients satisfied and not irritated ![]()
All those in favor PLEASE COMMENT AND SUPPORT!!

They don't respect your wishes, regardless?
I've deleted a couple broadcast rats from my BBMessenger.
If i want to send them a message, well, I don't need to. ![]()

Nope talking to them didn't work. They either were too busy broadcasting idiotic msgs (than to read what I have asked them not to do) OR They simply forgot cuz some of my friends/family have what is close to 70 -100 bbm contacts.
I seriously believe RIM hasn't thought it out carefully. Its starting to get on my nerves. I didn't sign my contract for THIS. ![]()

lol, your friends are getting on your nerves, and it's RIM's fault.
My eggs were cooked to hard this morning. I'm blaming RIM for that too because I was looking at my BlackBerry too long while cooking them. There's some amount of personal responsibility you have in this.

This is definitely RIM's responsibility. Other message applications such as e mail and msn have spam blockers or junk mail.
It is definitely RIM's responsibility for what? They cause you to have stupid spamming friends?
Or it's their responsibility that you have not deleted those who spam you?
How is RIM to know which of your friends are spammers... since YOU added them to your BBM Contact list! This is not like spam, which comes to your email inbox from unknown, un-added persons. In this case,

This is no different especially if you have many contacts, like myself. I doubt RIM will add a feature but hopefully some app developer will create a program that does so. Get moving geeks, this is killing me.
They already created it... it's called the delete button. YOU invited the spammers to your BBM Contact list, you delete them. What a novel idea.

I so agree with Sammydigital.
What's RIM's responsibility?!!?? TO UPDATE AND ENHANCE their applications. WHAT ELSE? I seriously don't see any serious updates in the recent BBM versions.
Delete them? lool and what end up with 2 friends and pay monthly for that? ummm no thank you. I won't delete close friends and family for that. Why can't have the best of both worlds?! I don't enjoy broadcasting at all SOME find it beneficial. So those WHO DON'T like it should be able to block those broadcasts.
I'll give you a metaphorical example of what you're making me feel when I read your comments.
Apple creates a New state of the art laptop HOWEVER the battery span only lasts for 30 minutes. I tell you, oh what a pity, I wish apple creates a new battery that lasts for 3 hours. I could really use that time on a plane. And you come along and tell me NO THEY DO NOT NEED to do that THEY ALREADY HAVE CREATED CHARGERS FOR YOU.
What's the harm of creating a block button? uuuuuh nothing, It just makes the application better. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so.
There are tons of people who are annoyed by broadcasts but still enjoy the friends they talk to. So ur basically just saying to us (either stay irritated, OR, stop talking to them at all and have your BBM nearly empty)
You're really defensive when it comes to RIM, if you work there or something maybe you can help and do something about it.

I'm not surprised.

You don't see oxygen in the atmosphere, but it's there. So what you don't see any "serious" updates. Maybe you're not looking in the right place... or maybe they are no updated features that you would even notice. The most recent BBMessenger upgrade made a TREMENDOUS update to the application for me, which until so, had almost made using BBMessenger unusable for me (in this case allowing my Storm keyboard to be active when typing in a Chat Group).

Nope, I don't work for RIM.
And I don't really disagree that allowing you to block a user would be some evil feature. If RIM were to add it, so be it. You and a few others obviously need it badly.
Until then, though, what is so wrong with even asking that contact to quit spamming you?
Where is your own self-responsibility in this?
Can't you say "Please quit spamming (or broadcast messaging) me, or I will need to remove you from my BBM contacts!"
And you'd only be left with two friends on BBM if you removed them? Maybe it's your culture you're in, I have a great many BBM contacts, and have only seen two or three broadcast "spam" type messages in a year.
And, those that were spammy, I deleted them.
Good luck. Maybe it will come about.

I already did that a few times now. And yes it seems its the culture that I live in unfortunately.
Thanx anyway ![]()
