Hello

I live in Brasil

I have one BB Torch 9800 that i buy in Portugal.

It works (only phone and sms) with my SIM from VIVO on Brasil now.

When i tried to buy the BIS at Vivo (provider) to use in Brasil, i receive the information that the PIN only works in Portugal. I can buy the service but the BIS will not work. It need to unlock in Portugal

It is true ?

I only know about locks that SIMS can be locked to an provider/operator.

Services locked by countries is new for me.

It sounds like it is locked to the branded service provider in Portgual.

You need to purchase an unlock code, and I will recommend this service, they are reputable and honest.

The blackberry in Portugal works with Portuguese SIM (all the 3 providers) and Brazilian SIM from VIVO.

I tried and it works

Without the BIS service all the programs inside Torch 9800 do not work.

Can anyone help me

Ok, perhaps I misunderstood your initial question, or the language barrier made it difficult to understand.

This is working as designed... if you have NO BIS service, certain programs and applications (email, internet browser, Facebook, Twitter, BBMaps, BBMessenger, and others) will not work.

That is correct.

Without BIS service, you can still use the Hotspot browser for suring the internet and some other third party applications like Pandora radio will work.

The BB works great with phone, SMS and Internet (HIFI). Is not SIM locked. But the information that i have at VIVO (Brasil) is that BIS not work in BB buyed in Portugal. Is true ?
