Earthlink requires SMTPAuth for its outgoing servers (on Port 587), otherwise, if you choose to BCC your messages sent from your BB to your earthlink account, they will always get caught in the spam filter.
Is there any way of setting this up or getting around it?
Thanks!

I use Erthlink on my Pearl without a problem. Where are you getting hung up? I use Verizon and added the emails through the BIS website (as opposed to doing directly on the Pearl but I don't think it should make a difference).
When you're first setting it up, leave the password blank on the first screen so it doesn't automatically try to detect the settings. It will let you manually input the settings. I still didn't see the option to change the outgoing port, but it worked no problem. There is also an option for it to detect the settings from your Outlook settings. You could try that too.
Hope it works.

Thanks O'C
The problem is only with the fact that I choose to BCC myself on all my BB messages (so I have a copy in Outlook and not just on my BB). Because Earthlink requires SMPTAUTH, it catches my own emails in the spam filter every time.
Do you do this as well? (BCC yourself)
I'm going to try your suggestion of setting up the account without the password. ![]()

Sorry. I read your initial post too quickly and didn't fully appreciate the problem you were running into. My suggestion would only help getting the account set up on the BB, not with the BCC issue you're running into.
Can you add yourself to a Safe Sender list or something like that so your bcc messages aren't getting hung up?
I don't bcc myself on a regular basis so I haven't had to deal with this directly. But if I think of something I'll let you know.
Good luck.

I have to add myself every time one comes through (it's getting very old![]()
I had this same problem on my Treo, but I was able to customize the settings to allow for SMTPAUTH on the outgoing server, so I was able to overcome it.
Thanks for your engagement and help ![]()

What carrier are you with?
I have Verizon, and when I go to Blackberry's Verizon BIS site to set up my email, there is an Auto Bcc field under "Edit". I just tried it with my Earthlink account and it bcc'd the same email address I was sending from.
