Since a few month I am not able to configure my Browser home page, always set to mobile.blackberry.com, and neither change the emulation mode, always set to Blackberry.
I discovered that if I delete the Blackberry Help Service Book the problem solves, until the SB is pushed again.
I asked my service provider (Vodafone Italy) but they just can send me service books; they say they don't lock home page or any browser coniguration.
Any help? I read in the forum that it is not possible to delete permanently a service book...
My BB is a 8310 fw 4.5.0.174, but the problem arised with .55.

Can't you change yoru browser home page in your browser options, and save?
But it's locked and won't let you save that?

When Service Book is loaded I can't change browser options; when I delete it I can change and save, but everything is set to default again when Service book is pushed.

Oh well, gotta love the carriers... they force you to use what they wish.
Sorry. Talk to your carrier and complain to them, perhaps they will hear you.

Thanks for your reply.
I tried a couple of times, with no success, but I can try again, maybe I could find anyone at customer support who knows what is a service book. ![]()

If they don't know what a service book is, you could always point them to this public KB:
KB03151 What is a service book
Also, be sure to get escalated beyond their level 1 support folks and into their (the carriers) dedicated BB support staff.
Cheers!
button inside of their post. Further, if you are the original poster (OP) and your issue is solved, please remember to (on the post that is the solution) click the "Accept as Solution" button so that others can more easily find it. Cheers! Oh...and FWIW...I am not a RIM employee...and these forums are user-to-user...not user-to-RIM.

But remember, some carriers DO lock that screen to a certain page, and it is meant to disable your ability to change it.

Solved (how long?
)! Today I backed up my BB, wiped and restored everything except Service Books.
Then I sent them from BIS website. Now my browser starts where I told it!
