The Curve 9300 is not capable of running OS 7.1 due to hardware limitations. The Curve 9310 was designed in order to be work with BlackBerry OS 7.0 and 7.1. I understand this may not be the answer you were hoping to hear, but unfortunately, there is no way around this.
