Blackberry Protect Not restoring BBM contacts

Hi I recently upgraded my OS for my 9700 and did a handheld wipe.

I do weekly backups on blackberry protect but it doesn't seem to be restoring my BBM contacts.  Is there a reason for this?

Thanks!

Re: Blackberry Protect Not restoring BBM contacts

Correct, Protect does not make a back up of your BBM contacts.

You perform that backup from two places:

  • With BBMessenger itself > Options > Backup, either remote or local or both
  • By connecting to the Desktop Software and making a backup, and restoring from there.

Re: Blackberry Protect Not restoring BBM contacts

You should make backups, and know what you're backing up.

When you enter your BlackBerryID on the BlackBerry, and begin using BBM again, your contacts MIGHT re-establish themselves, because when you first signed in you should have been presented with entering an email address to connect with your BBM account.

If not, then you don't have a way to restore them.  Go to BBM > Options > Restore and try.
