Curve 8310 - Upgraded to 4.5 - the problem is...

I cannot see the images stored on my media card and I can't hear the music stored on my media card. They are still there where I put them but I am unable to access them/save them/copy them/. I will not format my media card ask I've been asked to do unless I have the photos downloaded somewhere,

Please, advise.

Help!!

use a memory card reader on your PC (it can be your BlackBerry device).
In windows explorer, open the options and select "show hidden files".
In every single folder of the memory card, there may be a file named BBThumbs.dat .
Delete all those .dat files.

when you open the media application, it will start the indexation of all the media files, and recreate a brand new BBThumbs.dat file for each folder and you will be able so see your files.

Thank you, thank you for helping.

Now, call me PC eliterate (I'm a Mac Designer) but I got as far as hooking my BB to the PC, finding the Windows Explorer, showing the hidden files and folders, but cannot find any ".dat" files anywhere or BBThumbs" for that matter, to delete. Did a search but nothing.

WHAT AM I DOING WRONG???

Help!! Again!!

And much thanks!!!

On your Media Card... look in the Pictures folder... each folder will have the bbthumb.dat file

Re: Curve 8310 - Upgraded to 4.5 - the problem is...

That's another problem. My (or my friend's) PC is not recognizing my BB connected to the PC. Can't see the media card on the PC to delete the .dat files.

Am I nuts??
