Hi
Can someone explain whether the following should be possible using BIS?
If I send an email from my laptop using my Google Apps IMAP email account, should the email not appear on my BB as a sent email? Are they not supposed to sync like Thunderbird/Outlook do? If I send an email from the Gmail web interface, it appears in my Sent Folder on Thunderbird.
And whilst on the subject, should I not be able to view Inbox, Sent, Outbox etc individually on my BB? When I select "view folder" on my BB, it shows a list of MMS/SMS folders but no email folders.
Regards
BT

You need BES for all the folder functions, etc.
I don't recall if GMail IMAP will reconcile sent messages from the webmail to the BB. Another user here might know and answer that specifically.

Thanks Andy, but it looks like it's only one way reconciliation with 'Sent' messages.
I love my Bold and it's easily the best phone I've ever had, but email doesn't work the way I thought it would. Especially with Gmail/Google Apps accounts. I expected all folders to be conciled. I'd set up filters on gmail to skip the inbox and thus use the gmail labels as seperate folders. It worked great on Thunderbird but once I'd got the Blackberry I had to change all my filters back.
Now whatever emails I receive have to remain in the Inbox or else my BB won't get them. i'm hoping that in time BB will update their software. I really didn't want an iphone for various reasons but apparently it syncs with all folders/labels on imap accounts. And that was what I wanted.

I am using GMAIL for Domains as well and what you are describing is the way it has always been. Another problem is if you save all your emails (Archive in GMAIL) that deleting them in BB with sync on actually deletes them -- it does not put them into your ALL folder.
To workaround the issue I've had to set the BB Mail to prompt me when I delete an email -- then for the ones I want to save I tell it to only delete on the handheld -- I'm forced to later go in and archive emails via the GMAIL web client or via the GMAIL Blackberry client (separate app from BIS inbox).
