What page are you talking about? It would help if you would describe the steps you've taken.

Re: How To Reload Your Operating System

Hi Dusti, sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Can you try a selective backup of just the databases you need (e.g. Address Book, Calendar, Messages, etc?). If not, download and install BlackBerry Protect on your phone and use that to backup the necessary databases.

If you still can't get it to work from the step of where you run the Loader.exe file, download and install a program called BBSAK to your computer by going to http://bbsak.org. Once its installed to your computer, plug your phone in and launch it, then choose Wipe Device from the main set of options. If your phone is not recognized, press Ctrl+Alt+Delete on your computer, select the task manager, select the processes tab and shut down the process named bbdevmgr. Next, return to BBSAK and select Connect. It should now see your phone and allow you to wipe it. Note: this will remove all device info, so make sure you have tried to back it up first. Once that is done, choose Load OS and reload the OS to you device.

Hopefully that will help!

Re: How To Reload Your Operating System

After reloading the software, done because of probable file corruption. I am now restoring my data, my question is, I have had my phone unlocked, will it still be unlocked afetr reinstalling the operating system? or do I have to unlock it again??

BTW your instructions were great, thank you. But you should also update to include Win7? :smileyhappy:

Tnx,

John

Re: How To Reload Your Operating System

Hey John, glad to hear that it worked for you!

Good news is you won't need to worry about unlocking your phone. It will stay unlocked. :smileyhappy:

Also, I know about the updating... unfortunately I can't update the post myself anymore, but maybe I'll see if a forum moderator can take care of that for me!

Hi DMW3,

Have you figured this out yet? If not, let me know... It's been a busy few days so I've been unable to check the forums.
