Hello,

I'm trying to setup my BB Curve (Verizon) to use Gmail's IMAP service through the BIS email configuration site. I've read the instructions & scanned through the forum but can't find an answer.

According to the instructions, on the BIS web site, I'm supposed to check the box for "I will provide the settings to add this email account" so that I can specify the IMAP.gmail.com mail server address, however, this option is not available when I Edit or when I add the email account.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

when you are entering your gmail address and the password, please use wrong password which will take you to the 'i will provide the  settings' page and you can specify the correct password and mail server name as imap.

Thanks for the suggestion, but no soap I'm afraid. I had tried it before and it didn't work, but I just tried it again w/no luck.

I also tried configuring GMail to Disable POP (w/IMAP Enabled of course) & have the BB mail server fail pulling email, and I still don't see that option on the BIS server config page.

Unfortunately yes, that's where I can't ever get the "I will provide the settings to add this email account," setting.

try this and it will work: instead of your em gmail address enter test@test.com and some pw. this will faill and take you to next screen where you chosee i will provide setiings, then this is my work email and then you enter correct gmail address in username and email field and IMAP.gmail.com for server and it will work.

That worked perfectly, thanks BBsingh! 

Now maybe I get to experience the other problems w/overly large attachments...  :-)   I'm hoping this works; I don't want to download all the mail I get.
