Hi,
I have a very strange problem, many times my mobile stops recieving emails.. and when I open the email settings from my device I find it is connected to a different Telecom company that is not in my country (Saudi Arabia) which called mtn_nigeria .. so I have to register my mobile again through host routing table with my service provider STC (Saudi Telecom Company) and then I'll be able to send the service books again. The problem appers randomly sometines 3 or 4 times a day.
I've tried the following solutions with no success:
1- Format the device
2- change the service provider to another compan with different sim.
3- upgraded the OS from 4.6 to 5
4- deleting the service books in the device and sending it again.
usually i find a service book called "wap mtn nigeria" comes from no where and it cause the problem to appear.
I hope I can find a solution to this problem, I'm struggeling since one month I'm facing this difficult problem.
Thanks..
Blackberry Bold 9000 , OS 5

Very strange.
1. How did you format the device? Please explain in detail what you did.
Where did you buy the device, used or new from?
Look Options > Advanced > TCP. What is entered there?

Thanks for the reply.
I formated the device using Options > Security Options >Security Wipe
My device was new and the problem appeared after 4 months of using the device with no problems.
There is nothing entered in the TCP.
Thanks

Using the Security Wipe is not a formatting the device, it simple should remove all personal preferences, data, addresses etc., from the device.
Where was the device purchased NEW? From a carrier?
Anyways, your device isn't hacked, the Blackberry is more secure than any device.
Has the BlackBerry been out of your hands or has it travelled to that country of Nigeria, or near there?
It is quite odd.

Thanks for the reply.
I didn't purchase it from a carrier, but it was new when I purchase it.
I didn't travel anywhere out of my country or my city, it is really odd, especially that it was working fine for 4 months!
Is there anyway to format it completly?

You will need to use JL_Cmder to wipe the device and subsequently load the OS to the device. Follow the instructions here:

When you say it didn't work...what, exactly, does that mean? Did the process complete but the original problem reappeared? Or did the process fail somewhere? Details, please...
Thanks!

The process worked fine and I wiped every thing and reinstalled the OS, but unfortunately the problem reappeared again.
Could it be hardware problem? i remember the problem started sometime after my device felt down badly to the floor? i know it seem illogical but I couln't find logical cause to the problem!
I hope to get a fix to this solution since my device starting to be useless..
Thanks..

Terribly strange situation. So your BB now continues to choose a different network on it's own. You say you did not purchase it from a telcom provider, but that it was brand new. Do you know if it was unlocked from its first carrier? BB's are "locked" to an initial carrier and, to work properly on other carriers networks, must be unlocked from that first carrier. See this:
Also, do you have a Manage Connections icon? Please go into that app and select Mobile Network Options. In there should be a selection for "Network Selection Mode"...is that set to Automatic or Home Only? Try changing it to the other setting to see if it helps your BB remain on your network of choice.
Your theory about damage is not irrelevant...though I agree a bit unlikely. One never knows, however, what will happen to a computing device when it is subjected to such an event...
Good luck and let us know!
