I am stumped.  I have had my phone since early July, and have loved it and taken care of it since then.  I woke up a couple days ago after being out and the keyboard/trackball were unresponsive.  I tried hard-resetting it (pulling battery and waiting 30seconds).  The phone starts up, comes on, and goes to main screen, but I am unable to select anything.  I can still receive calls/texts but cannot answer/view them...

I wiped everything off of my phone, redownloaded my operating system ( I think it was 4.5) and now the trackball will MOVE, but I CANNOT select anything.  Keyboard still unresponsive?

I do not have insurance on my phone, so I am determined to figure out the solution.  Could all of you Blackberry genuises grace me with your knowledge?

This sounds like a hardware issue, not a software issue.  Did the device get exposed to any kind of moisture?

It's possible, but doubtful. There is no water damage done to the white sticker inside the phone;  would blowing out the phone with air duster help any?  What are ways to get moisture out...should I disassemble my phone?

use dry rice in a box. Put your blackberry in it for 48h.

Dry white rice in a box?  Do i need to disassemble (As in take out batter, SIM, memory card) or leave as is and just sink it in the rice?  Have you tried this before?  I guess I don't really have any other options and am S.O.L. otherwise, so I guess I will give this a try!  It has been 4 days since this problem first occured, could moisture STILL be built up within the phone?

you don't need to disassemble your device.
4 days is a lot.
maybe rust has already been created.
