The pre-loaded games can change with core OS updates. The carriers also sometimes choose to change the pre-loaded games. To get them back, you would have to search for them in AppWorld, google, or some other search engine. As to "why"...there's no way to know for certain, but my suspicion is licensing...licenses expire, are replaced by others, and other things. Basically, the pre-loaded things (including games) are what they are. If you want more, you must seek them out and get them as add-ons rather than included with the core.
