Problems on 9900 - just upgraded to Ver 7 bundle 2406

I recently upgraded to ver 7 bundle 2406 on a 9900 (only because the icon appeared on my screen). Since then I've been experiencing an issue during phone calls.... it occasionally dials a contact's secondary phone number in the middle of a call. It doesn't happen every time, but it's happened 10-15 times in 3 days. I'm in the middle of a conversation and suddenly it's ringing through to another phone number associated with that contact.

At first I thought I was accidently activating the touch screen in some way. I'm definitely not. After it happened the first few times, I've been very careful and it's still happening. Is this a known issue?  As a side note my battery seems to be draining faster since the upgrade. Both issues are very frustrating.

Re: Problems on 9900 - just upgraded to Ver 7 bundle 2406

I recommend that you downgrade the software to previous version.

An administrator function won't allow me to use the function to downgrade to a previous version. Is there a place to download the firmware itself and install it?

Re: Problems on 9900 - just upgraded to Ver 7 bundle 2406

When I followed the link to my mobile provider (Rogers) the only versions shown are ver 5 and 4. Should I approach them or is there another RIM site to download the previous version of 7?

Re: Problems on 9900 - just upgraded to Ver 7 bundle 2406

Don't know whether to laugh or cry on this one.....

Tried downloading the previous version of firmware. After install the bundle version didn't change even after a battery pull. It still reads bundle 2406. In any case the problem is persisting.

Although the problem appeared after my software upgrade it appears to be the touchscreen that is at fault. I did some testing while being VERY careful not to activate a button or the screen with my finger during some test calls.....    My FACE :-) appears to be activating the screen even while holding the phone carefully during a call. It first pushes the contact logo in the middle of the active phone call screen, which brings up the contact screen of the person I'm talking to, then my face highlights one of the contact's phone numbers on the next  accidental push. On the third accidental "push" it actually dials the number while I'm still talking to the contact. All this happens while holding the phone normally while talking and being careful not to activate by finger touch.

I "face dialed" 5 times today losing 2 VIP calls in the process. It would be funny if it wasn't so serious.

So.... 2 questions. Why didn't the firmware download to the previous version after I installed it? Why am I suddenly "face dialing" on my new 9900?

Re: Problems on 9900 - just upgraded to Ver 7 bundle 2406

Sorry you're having troubles with this.  To downgrade, in the desktop manager there shoud be a View other versions button when you click Update my device.  Choose the old version and proceed with the downgrade.  Another option is to take it to the store and let rogers downgrade it for you and look at the face dialing issue.
