Not found this answer officially but for anyone who's interested, it doesn't look as though this is possible yet. I hope this is an imminent addition. The calendar isn't super useful until you can sync multiple calendars which hopefully stay as separate calendars on the Blackberry also.
This one something I quite liked during my brief stint on a Palm Pre. Calendar sync was nicely done. Hope RIM go down the same synergy route.
