Have a Pearl 8110 which had OS 4.5
Using Desktop Manager 6.1, Device Mgr 6.0, USB Driver 4.2
After a drop, the screen went blank and white and the right top has a strange brown and black colored figure that resembles a bent creature / death creature
I have attempted to load fresh OS from scratch by installing fresh desktop manager and using "Loader.exe. Issue is that as soon as you turn on the BB (with or without the battery), in few seconds the white screen appears and when this happens, the BB keeps connecting and dis-connecting to the Win-Vista PC.
Based on suggestions from you folks, I manged to time the connect when it said USB:<pin no>. The "Loader" deleted apps, loaded system software but during Device activation cycle the white screen appeared and the connect, disconnect issue comes up. The loader wizard goes ahead shows all modules getting loaded, green bars but all this time the white screen and death icon stay on the screen. After "successful" mssg the BB remains the same
Just another point which may help. The white screen and death icon seem to be Java related. First time the Loader connects well is when it says connecting to "ARM...." but when it does not connect well it says "connecting to JVM..." The Device Manager never shows a disconnect with the device and the time connected is steadly increasing even though the PC keeps beeping showing there is a connect / disconnect.
Can anyone help? Is there a way to wipe the fake boot-strap from the device !!
