can ı backup only blackberry messenger contact list with desktop manager in backup and restore ?

and when ı restore my backup my device can see my contact list?

and what its databases  name in blackberry desktop manager in advance backup ?

if ı restore with diffrent blackberry that my contact list, my friends can see me online because blackberry pin number is changing so should ı add all users again ?

Yes, use the Backup/Restore > Advanced functions.

It should be able to do so , yes.

The database name will vary, but you will see the database being saved and prompted to change the name if you wish.

ok. example we add our friends with her/his pin number and they accept my pin and we talk.

I have blackberry messenger backup but my new blackberry's pin number is different. so should I add all users again for my new blackberry.

if ı change my blackberry, can ı use my old blackberry's (messenger backup) blackbery messenger contact list. OR If i change my blackberry, should I  add blackberry contact list again.  because my pin number changed

hey..

I just changed from bold 9000 to bold 9700. I already backed up my messenger contacts, the problem is now all my contacts are in shadows, I can send them messages but they cannot reply me. I haven't erased the contacts from my old device beforehand. Is there a solution so that I can receive the messages again? Some of my friends deleted my old contact and added my new one but then comes out the warning "the contact already exist". Only one was able to re-add me. Help...

ıt is a big problem that backup bbm contact list with desktop manager. you should upgrade your device 5.0 software. And backup your contact list in blackberry messenger menu.

Hi Gents,

The screen of my Bold 9000 is not working and i'm unable to use the device, however I can access the BB using my USB cable. I'm not afraid to loose any data since it's connected to MS Exchange and some imporatant docs are saved on the extyernal memory card. I still have 1 question: I have made several backups of my BB Messenger contacts on the media card (or it's internal memory) but i'm trying to see the back files through windows explorer using the USB canle, and i'm unable to see them... do you know in which directory the backs are saved...?

I got some "REM" files in the following directory: [X:\BlackBerry\app_world\downloads\XXXXXXXX\BlackBerry_Messenger] There are 49 files and all files are dated October 2010. If this is the correct folder, I still need to find out which is the backup.

I also found some "CON" files in [X:\home\user\im\BlackBerry Messenger\XXXXXXXX\backup]... are these the backed up BBM contacts...?
