I had a weird app error and needed to do a total wipe of my storm. Once I got all software reloadded I have been unable to restore bbm contacts using the email option. I tried it, and almost 18 hours later it tells me "Please try again later. You are currently being registered with the Blackberry Messenger Service. This is an automatic process and will complete in a few minutes." Any ideas?

With the BlackBerry device powered ON, remove the battery a few seconds and then reinsert the battery to reboot.
Now, try the restore again.

I am having the same problem and I tried the hard reboot but it continues to sit at the checking email status screen. I've restored my contacts before and never had a problem but after this most recent update it deleted BBM 5 and now I lost all my contacts.
Any ideas?

Having the same issue here too on Sprint. Is this a server issue or device issue?

I am having the same issue. Can someone from BlackBerry comment of the reason for this? Is it a server issue, etc.

yeah a comment from RIM on a fix time would be great, its obvious that its a server issue.
