Greetings, and welcome to the BlackBerry.com Support Forums.
You cannot change the startup splash screen on the BB, it is burned in to the ROM and cannot be changed, no matter what OS you load onto the device, be it from AT&T, or whomever.
It is there to stay.

What OS (list the filename in your response and where you obtained it) are you attempting to load?
So it is a TMobile device?

1. It appears you have already resolved this thread with your answer above.
2. I asked what handheld OS were you attempting to load to the device, you responded with the current OS on the handheld.
It is difficult to help (and I am willing) if you don't help me.
So... let's start fresh (and you might want to UNclick this thread as resolved UNTIL it is so)...
A. How are you attempting to upgrade the OS, what method?
B. Have you downloaded an OS file?
C. From where?
C. What is the exact name of the file?

OK here goes....As described earlier, I am not concerned what my current version is and do not need nor am I attempting to upgrade at this time. My concern as described, is that when I attach my device and start Desktop manager, when I select application loader and I reads the current config/installed apps, It does not show the current handheld software. It has been my experience with my previous Blackberry models that to upgrade the device software I remove the old version then load the new one (through app loader) which will (when I desire to upgrade) be hard to do if it is not even showing up as installed.
Your Questions:
A. Not attempting to upgrade, but when I do through App Loader
B. No have not downloaded new OS, not desiring to upgrade at this time since I think I have most current til 4.5 is released for ATT for Curve
C. N/A
D. N/A

Oh, well, none of that was clear to me, since from your several statements, you want App Loader to note the current handheld OS on your device. If THAT (the current handheld OS) is not download and installed to your PC, then App Loader won't see it in Desktop Manager.
