Hi I am getting my blacberry 10 tomorrow and i was wondering whether i can use skype on it once i get it as long as i have data plan on for internet. Thanks

There's no Skype ... yet. It is said to be coming soon.

There is BBM Video and Voice chat!

I don't think there is an official ETA though which kinda blows because you don't know if they mean its coming next week, or next month or next year. Lol.

My personal solution, and I have advice to other BB users, is used "ephone" from Comwave. It's better than Skype

I do hope that this will come very soon, I am also hoping that it will be video chat enabled to, as I have upgraded early to Z10 due to the lost of my Torch 9800 which had Windows Live and Skype and considering to my understanding that Skype was sold to Microsoft, I noticed that the Z10 will not be adopting the Windows Live due to it shut down and update to Skype.

To add to this, my network provider is 3uk (three.co.uk) who I understand sold the same Skype to Microsoft.

I do hope that all social chat mediums will be fully video chat enabled and to be fair, come as a update and not an upgrade which should be left for HOLOGRAM CHAT  BB OS10

Hi,   For this very moment, Skype is on way.. But You have FACE FLOW, it is just like Skype, I have used it, and it works great.. But, and there is always a But... For Video Chat you need Z/Q10 to Z/Q10,

  However, lets say you have a friend that does not have Z/Q10 they can go online, Register with Face Forward, it is simple , just a user name, pw, and they can Video Chat with you on their PC or Smart Phone that is capable of Explorer Internet Etc.

   I actually find that Face Flow , www.faceflow.com , is cleaner and smoother  than Skype as it is not loaded up with  a ton of stuff you don't need.

  I have used Face Flow with friends, who do not have smart phone but have Web Cam on their PC and with my Z10 have had a great time..

    It is FREE to use, unless you want to make Cell calls .. Check it Out..  In the meantime.... Skype will be soon..

Apps are built for each platform specifically.. BB10, PlayBook, Legacy BBOS devices.

I don't know the answer to your device, but currently on the Skype for BB10 devices has been seen, and I suspect if it is developed for the other BlackBerry platforms, it will be a wait.
