bbw issue please help.

Every time I click on bbm it shows --- There was a connection problem. Blackberry world must close.

I am a first time user and my phone BlackBerry z10 is working on wifi. Do I need a compulsory data recharge. Does blackberry world not work on wifi?

Re: bbw issue please help.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

BBM or BBW? You said both. BBM is BlackBerry Messenger while BBW is BlackBerry World. Two completely different things.

In the meantime, with a strong network signal (yes, it can be WiFi only), I suggest the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (step 1 should result in a message coming to your BB...please wait for that before proceeding to the next step):

1) Register HRT

  • KB00510 How to register a BlackBerry smartphone with the wireless network
  • Please wait for one "registration" message to arrive

2)  Reboot

  • Pre-BB10 Devices ONLY. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes.
  • BB10 Devices. Hold the top button down until the counter reaches zero. Wait for the device to be fully shut down (e.g., nothing at all displayed on the screen, no LED lights, etc.). Hold the top button until the red LED is lit. Wait through the full boot-up process. IF this fails, you can attempt the battery-pull method above, but it is normally NOT recommended unless nothing else works.
  • See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try perhaps a different network, or contact your mobile service provider and/or original place of purchase for formal support.

Good luck!

Hello,

"not working" is rather difficult to understand, especially given the number of steps provided above. Please be more explicit with the exact results of what happens (on each step) when you do as described above.

Thanks.

Re: bbw issue please help.

Hello

Sometimes if your network connection is not that stable..

Or if you connect the a wifi spot but it doesn't really provide internet connection...

The BBW will show this kind of message.

Can you check if you have the BlackBerry icon on the top right corner of your screen?

If so, that means you connected to BlackBerry Service, and both BBM and BBW need it.

Thanks

Is it BBM? or BBW?

If it is BBW ... you have to download the latest version of BBW on www.blackberry.com/appworld. Or you can try this workaround on your device. However this troubleshooting steps is using a Mobile Data Network and not WiFi.

KB24457 "There is an issue with BlackBerry App World. BlackBerry App World must now close" appears and BlackBerry App World closes unexpectedly

Remove the APN information to allow BlackBerry App World to open.

Note: APN settings can be used to allow special access to wireless service provider information, or to allow some applications to connect to a network resource. Please make note of any settings before removing.

On smartphones with BlackBerry® 6:

  1. From the smartphone, go into Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > TCP IP
  2. Clear the APN Settings Enabled check box

On smartphones with BlackBerry Device Software® 4.6 to 5.0:

  1. From the smartphone, go into Options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP
  2. Clear the APN Settings Enabled check box

On smartphones with BlackBerry Device Software 4.5:

  1. From the smartphone, go into Options > Advanced Options > TCP
  2. Remove the settings from the APN line

If this issue still persists then try disabling Wi-Fi® on the BlackBerry smartphone.

Hope it would help Smiley Happy
