Apps not available

I know this is most likely not the right place but I could not find anywhere else to post this. I have a blackberry 9810 and I love it. I like the features and other things of the blackberry better than the iphone. However I am ready to move back to the iphone despite what I despise about it. There are many apps that I want to use primarily a weight watchers app that I signed up for but find out can't use because Blackberry only supports the calculator not the app with access to the site. Also the Starbucks card app so I can use my phone to purchase coffee instead of my card. There are many others and I just want to know why Android and Apple have these but Blackberry doesn't. It is seriously hurting their productivity and causing them to loose potential customers as well as current ones.

Hi and Welcome to the Community!

You did pick the right place to post this...unless you are expecting any formal response from BlackBerry (such does not happen here...this is a user-to-user community).

In any event, it is quite rare for the device manufacturers to "pull" apps from the developers. Rather, it is up to the developers to decide which platforms to support, and port their apps accordingly. Therefore, if you really want to have a chance to make a difference on this point, then the place you need to push is the developers, for it is they who must choose what platforms to support.

the Starbucks scanner uses a special scanner (not laser like anywhere else, but a kind of webcam).
So despite the fact that people have the app on their iOS and Android devices, the loyalty card feature of the app is available only for selected models (does not work with the iPhone3GS for instance, and on Android I know for a fact that it works for some models like the Galaxy SII / SIII but not all LG devices).

I believe the screen of the 9810 will not be readable either by Starbucks.

That being said, I don't know why Starbucks decided to use a different tech (more expensive and dedicated to high-end consumer phones).

I hope you'll find pleasure using your iPhone again.
