Re: BBM 7.0 - It's a trap!!!

Hello,

Just FYI and possibly for others...one should always, as part of a normal backup procedure, be also backing up their BBM Contacts:

  • KB20554 How to back up and restore the BlackBerry Messenger contact list

Doing a 1-time backup before updating the app would naturally be quite prudent as well.

Of course I realize this is of no help to you in arrears, but perhaps someone else can be spared the pain by learning from your experience.

Cheers!

Re: BBM 7.0 - It's a trap!!!

Yeah I've done that so that's my last hope.  But I know there was the virtual restore option and for some reason the new BBM 7 doesn't allow that option!!!

Re: BBM 7.0 - It's a trap!!!

"Virtual Restore Option"...hmmm...do you mean the method BBM had for backing up to one of your email addresses? If so, I never trusted that anyway and would back up to my Device or Media Card memory...that way I have a physical file to use...and I can then copy that file to my computer, for even more protection. I don't, however, know if BBM 7 can use that file or not...there are many many issues posted with BBM 7 today and I am nowhere near sorting through them all to really understand what is happening.
