Hi guys,

just thought id see if i can get help on the below issue.

Basically, my phone got stolen but all my bbm contacts were backed up to a gmail address, now when i try and restore from that it says its not linked to any blackberry messenger account.

Its definitely a valid account as ive used it in the past for a restore while changing devices

any thoughts?

Also, I'd like to know if it is linked to an email address, can i somehow see the latest contact list on that address - for eg : if i hav 150 contacts a week ago and i have 140 now, will i be able to see the 10 that are inactive/deleted?

Is that email account currently added to the BlackBerry?

Also if you have 140 now and had 150 last week, you will not have access to who were deleted.

Yeah, Ive added it and previously used when i first did i device switch.

Secondly, where exactly is the contact info saved when you remote backup and how often is it updated?

I dont know if this helps, but its also not letting me backup my old phone (sense it might be a carrier issue) as it sends out an email which i receive but it still shows as pending on the bbm registration part of it

Isn't it supposed that the WIPE is useful in case your BB gets robed??? I have the same trouble now, and I guess I've lost all my bbmsn contacts

As I get the idea, if I lose my phone I can wipe it remotely so my info is not any more in the phone, but I would like to restore it on a new BB. Isn't it a good idea?????

Restore bb data to new bb first better.You will lose all bb data after wipe.
