Blackberry Playbook, icon's and App world missing including mail.

I have backed up my blackberry playbook, then restored it to its original settings, as the App world, internet exployer and some other icons had dissapeared completely. Now that it has been restored to orginal settings, the only icon is the settings one and the internet explorer.

Please Help!

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community.

When you restored your BlackBerry PlayBook tablet to original settings, did you perform a security wipe? Have you since restored a backup file? Could you please check to make sure the icons weren't moved to another screen or into any folder? Does restarting it make any change?

i had backed up the device and then completed a security swipe, which had still not worked the first time. I done it a second time and it worked, but now i can't link it back to the backed up software on my pc. How do I find out what the blackberry id was? as the one i thought isn't working. I had made a call before to tech support so i have the reference number still, would this help?

Hey francag,

You will only be able to restore a backup if you are currently using the same BlackBerry ID that was being used when the backup was taken. Please see: "Unable to restore a backup file from a BlackBerry 10 smartphone or BlackBerry PlayBook that is using a different BlackBerry ID" KB31317
Do you have another BlackBerry ID that you may have been using at that time? What happens when you try to restore the backup file?
