Re: Can't check-in on Places Facebook v2.0.0.37

Sadly, I've tried that and nothing has changed. I've uninstalled, reinstalled, checked my gps settings, checked my fb "places" settings, and nothing seems to work.

Oh great...sure would be nice if Blackberry wouldn't push the update to you when they know what OS you're on! Just sayin...

Thank you so much for the update!

Re: Can't check-in on Places Facebook v2.0.0.37

I also have this problem. The GPS is available and OS version is OK.

This message is always showed below after i want to "check-in".

"We are unable to reach the facebook server at this time. (4405)"

However, my friend's facebook account can "check-in" on my 9520 successfully.

It looks weird.

Any solution from RIM? Many thanks.

Re: Can't check-in on Places Facebook v2.0.0.37

I went to blackberry store and their staff did the upgrade for me. They said you it an be done by yourself easily, like you gotta have desktop manager and download the OS from the internet and connect it with your blackberry. So sorry i didnt know how to do it in details. It souds complicated for me that's why i get people to do it.

Re: Can't check-in on Places Facebook v2.0.0.37

I have solved this problem.
You must use the web version to log in facebook.

Account settings -> mobile settings -> register your phone number
The system will send  a code message to your phone.

And you have to fill in this confirmation code.
Then log out and log in again.

Done!

Re: Can't check-in on Places Facebook v2.0.0.37

The REAL solution is to upgrade your operating system on your BB to the latest version.  My IT guy at work upgraded mine (but I think they will do it at your service provider store) and now my check in works fine.  Also, new OS is much sleaker than the old one.  Problem solved!

Try checking you privacy settings on facebook, if all is well I'd recommend you to roll back to a later version. If you notice a lot of people are having the same problem and no "real" solution is found yet
