I have the facebook application for my blackberry curve and when I have a new notification, the Facebook logo shows up with a little red star at the top of my screen (next to where my voicemail and SMS notifications are). Today for some reason it won't go away, even though I don't have any new notifications. If I get a new notification it will say "2" next to the Facebook logo and when I check that it will go back to "1" and won't clear it. The red asterisk indicating that I haven't checked it yet isn't there (unless I have a new one, then it will show up next to the "2"). I went through my notifications and don't have any new ones, even farther down on the list. I tried taking the battery out and restarting my phone. It's so annoying! Thanks for your help!

Ok RIM you made this Piece Of JUNK, got a Curve and I have the same problem, where is the "CLEAR NOTIFICATIONS" BUTTON? How could you make this thin without it, FIX IT before I throw my "BROKEBERRY" at the WALL.

I just had the same problem with my 8900.  I went to the facebook app, opened up notifications, highlighted all of them then pushed the menu button.  There you'll see "mark open".  Click on that and it should resolve the problem.

Same problem here.

Can't get rid of one FB notification. I have tried everything: viewed or deleted all messages, notifications, friend requests, pokes, just everything and it is still there.

Updated to latest FB app, running on OS6.

If anyone is fimiliar with this please respond.

I had a similar problem that arose today.

I fixed it by just going into my inbox (which includes a variety of messages: sms, email, whatsapp, and importantly facebook) and marking a few selected pages as unopened and then scrolled through for the rogue facebook notifications which for some reason didn't before.

I just selected a few pages containing miscellaneous messages.
(hold caps button and scroll down a few pages)

Then menu button --> mark unopened

Check your invitations.  I've found that if I have not yet replied to an event invitation, I get that little notification icon on my phone.
