Hi,

Can anyone help me with this one?????

My mum and myself both got the Blackberry Curve 8520 on the same day,

Niether of us have connection to any GPS technology, and it is as all forums say not built in,

But somehow my Mum can check in on Facebook but i cannot and get the message GPS is not built in?????

I am so confused??????????????

Welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.

The BlackBerry 8520 can use check-in if it is using BlackBerry OS 5 or higher. 

What version of OS are you using?

I am using OS 5 but it keeps telling me there is no built in GPS

All documentation on the 8520 that I've seen suggests that there is no built-in GPS in the 8520.  The 8530, yes but the 8520, no. 

I'm curious about what ViciousFerret is referring to, and I look forward to being educated on this point and proven wrong.
