Golflogix GPS Application

As a keen golfer I recently downloaded a GPS application for my Blackberry Storm called Golflogix. Having installed the application correctly my problem starts when I try to open it, I receive a message saying " Network error, cannot find the host ". My network host is Vodafone UK. I have tried many forums is search for a solution for this problem, so  can anyone help?

Re: Golflogix GPS Application

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

I suggest the following steps:

1) Register HRT

  • Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > BBKey (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now

2) Resend Service Books

  • KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service

3) Batt Pull Reboot

  • Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

Re: Golflogix GPS Application

I actually had a similar issue. I have a Storm and am also based out of the UK (Newbury, Yorkshire, so it should really work here). They initially told me my software was outdated and advised me to update, only for Vodafone to tell me that was rubbish. So I called back and spoke to a gentleman who contacted the developers. He came back and told me that I needed to ring up Vodafone (again) to make adjustments to something called the APN settings. After about 5 minutes on the phone with them, they had reset my settings. I went outside, ejected the battery, put it in, turned it on, and stayed outside for a bit. I tried a course a couple days later and it worked beautifully. I would suggest giving this a go as it is a great app after you get it to work properly.
