I can't change my BBM contact pictures

Some of my BBM contacts have set pictures which I really want to hide or change, but no matter how hard I try, I can't get there.

I've been to http://docs.blackberry.com/en/smartphone_users/deliverables/18720/Change_contacts_display_picture_93..., but to no avail.

I've checked the BBM settings and tried every combination of "Replace BlackBerry Contact Pictures with BlackBerry Messenger Pictures" (this is now un-checked)

When I go to "View Contact Profile" on a particular contact, I don't get the option to 'Change the Use BlackBerry Contacts Image field to Yes' - in fact that section isn't there at all!

Can anybody enlighten me? Pleeease!

Have you attempted updating to BBM7?

Re: I can't change my BBM contact pictures

BBM7 solves a lot of issues from BBM5 and BBM6, so maybe upgrading will solve your issue.

I do not undestand your sentence "I have a right job with BlackBerry App World".

Re: I can't change my BBM contact pictures

Sorry, for some reason I have never been successful installing add-ons through BlackBerry App world, but can do it with ALX files using the desktop manager.  There must be some issue with the firewalls etc.., and I don't have full administrative permissions to resolve the issue.  That's why I asked about the ALX files, hoping I could update BBM through DM.

Thanks, in anticipation

Re: I can't change my BBM contact pictures

as far as I know there is no official method to get the ALX/COD files for an app that is published in the AppWorld.

That being said, how do you connect to the AppWorld? Firewall issues are very seldom, and only happen when you use WiFi.
n which case I advise you to either use the cellular network to access AppWorld, or use a Wifi Hotspot.
