Dear Users,
I have a blackberry bold 9900 and have just upgraded to Blackberry Messenger 7.0.
Now when I start the the application I get the following messages:
Associating BBM with your Blackberry ID
followed by
BBM has failed to register with the BlackBerry messenger service. Registration is necessary to use the features of this application. Please ensure your device time is correctly set, open My Profile screen and check the BlackBerry Messenger registration status.

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Now, try the BlackBerryID again.

Hi,
I am having the same issue. It stays stuck on this even when I uninstall BBM and install it again or do a reboot.

I get exactly the same problem. Hangs for ever on "Associating BBM with your BlackBerry ID.
I have tried the battery out reboot.
I have deleted the App and reinstalled it.
Same problem and no progress.
Help please BlackBerry - what has gone wrong??

RIM is definitely dropping the ball, why roll out an update that messes everything up!!! I lost all my contacts. It won't give me the option to restore them.
