Saturday I had my phone taken out of my possesion. I'll try to give as much information as I can.
My phone is the BlackBerry 9900. I had installed blackberry protect on my phone a year ago. I was able to display messages, and make noises via internet explorer protect page.
I have tried to display a message, and wipe my device (more importantly as I don't want anyone going through my personal data). The response I got was that the device could not be detected and the command to wipe my phone would be issued the next time the device will be contactable.
I have a few questions. I understand a device needs network availability in order to become detectable. 1) Will this command go through if someone else puts another sim card within my phone. Is there any limitations depending of the type of sim card, for example, its a pay as you go sim card with no internet?
2) Will I know if my phone was wiped?
3) Will I see be able to GPS, or display messages to my phone if the wipe does go through?
4) Will my phone be trackable through another feature like the BlackBerrys IMEI number?
In advance thanks for answering my questions,
