What steps, if any, will preserve an AppWorld app currently installed on PlayBook after I update my tablet with OS 2.0?

What do you mean "preserve"? The app code or any data you've created and which it is storing in its sandbox data folder?

And which 2.0 do you mean? The official release expected in February, or the current beta?

I'd like to have an app (not any data that might be associated with it) that I now run on OS 1.0 available (i.e., installed) after I update the OS to the official release of OS 2.0 expected in February.

I believe when the official 2.0 release comes out, you will simply do an Over The Air (OTA) update exactly as many of us have done several times since April, and all your apps will be preserved, along with their data, with no problems expected.

In other words: don't worry, everything will work fine with no effort on your part.
