Unable to complete purchase of MyCast Weather for Storm II. System Error. Please Try Again Later (Error Id: 10858) Have removed app, and downloaded again. please advise

Hi there!

Perhaps clearing the application cache will help:

1. Open App World

2. Go to My World

3a. For keyboard-based BB's -- Hold down the ALT key and then press, in sequence R, then S, then T

3b. For Storm/Pearl -- Hold the num-lock (!?123) button so it locks and then press, in sequence 3, then 4, then (

4a. If your BB locks after issuing the cache clear, perform a battery pull reboot

One of my users figured out why he was getting this error:

 

It seems that the creditcard on file with paypal had been cancelled by the issuer and a new one was in the mail. 


I was not notified of this by paypal when I logged on to confirm the status of my acct. 

It would have been helpful if BBWorld could  translate the the error code into something more explanatory.

In my case, error 10858 when attempting to download software from my world was the result of a security hold being placed on my credit card (be careful if you fill both your and your wife's cars in two transactions at about the same time at the same gas station).  Neither my web banking nor paypal made any reference to the hold.  After hours of frustrating troubleshooting, I discovered it by attempting to transfer $10 from my card to my chequing. Finally, when that transaction was declined my banks web site brought up a message telling me to contact them.   Unfortunately, I blew about 12 hours on troubleshooting in between my initial check of paypal and credit card and the failed test.
